NOTES FROM THE OFFICE:

The Teachers in every classroom are devoted in their efforts to compensate our students for their loss of large group activities. In addition to academics, fun activities are planned within the classroom. The creativity of the teachers is really being challenged, but they are over the top with their new innovative ideas.

Outside time is really hampered by DCFS ruling that groups can not mix on the playground. We try to get the children outside as much as possible, but its difficult with the learning program, lunch, rest, etc.

On Tuesday, September 15, 2020 the DCFS Licensing Representative spent the day at the C.L.C. This was due to the "re-licensing", which takes place every 3 years. All policies and procedures are reviewed, as well as the classrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and playground. Other years, an annual DCFS visit occurs which entails a similar process. We passed with flying colors and are licensed for 3 more years.

Through the years, the Knights of Columbus have been a huge financial supporter of the C.L.C. In the past; just for example, they have bought tablets for the classrooms, pea gravel for the playground, and sponsored the Trunk or Treat. This year they are providing us with a Pizza lunch for our Halloween lunch and treat bags for each child.

Our proceeds from the T.J's  Pizza fundraiser and Popcorn fundraiser will be used for new tablets for the teachers in each classroom.
